George Washington's father asked him who cut down his Cherry tree....George said "Father, i will never tell a lie to you..i cut down your cherry tree....george did not get in trouble for he did not lie....

the two little boys dad asked who pushed the out house down into the river......the two little boys looked at each other and said "Father we shall never tell a lie to you...we pushed the out house down the river....they were spanked so hard they could not even sit...

One of the boys looked at their father and said "Father, George washington cut down the cherry tree and did not get into trouble because he told the truth...but when we told the truth, we were spanked....why is that..." their father looked at them both and said "well George Washingtons father was not in the cherry tree when he cut it down..."
